For Lendrum Spinning Wheel Double Single Treadle Connectors Pair

Direct replacements for the Lendrum Upright and Saxony-style double-treadle spinning wheels (the shorter of the two connectors also fits the Lendrum single-treadle wheel). They are around half a millimetre (0.5mm) narrower than Lendrum originals, which allow for easy fitting plus, being slightly more flexible than originals, easy treadling.

The longer of the two treadle connectors joins the right-hand treadle to the footman on the double-treadle wheel, after first passing through the rocking arm (make sure that you leave a gap of around 16mm between the rocking arm and the bottom of the footman when fitting it). The shorter connector joins the left-hand treadle to the rocking arm (it is also the only connector that you need on the Lendrum single-treadle wheel). NB. You will probably need to trim the length of the connectors if fitting to the Lendrum Saxony-style wheel.

NB. If your spinning wheel is still fitted with the screws originally provided by Lendrum – called Square-Lok, Scrulox or Robertson screws (they have a square hole in the head) then, when fitting the connectors, you will need to use a Robertson No. 1 size screwdriver (or Robertson No. 1 ‘hex-bit’ and handle). You may also need to use a Robertson No. 2 size screwdriver/hex-bit as well. Attempting to unscrew and screw back in Square-Lox screws with anything other than a Robertson screwdriver/hex-bit is very challenging, and may also result in damage to the screw head. Fortunately, I also supply Robertson No. 1 and No. 2 hex-bits along with magnetic hex-bit screwdriver handles!
