For Lendrum Spinning Wheel Double Single Treadle Connectors Pair

Direct replacements for the Lendrum Upright and Saxony-style double-treadle spinning wheels (the shorter of the two connectors also fits the Lendrum single-treadle wheel).

Important Notice/Disclaimer: Gordon (‘Gord’) Lendrum, after building spinning wheels for 47 years, announced his retirement c.2023. It is currently (summer, 2025) very difficult to obtain Lendrum parts in the UK. I do however make up and supply a number of Lendrum-compatible parts myself, namely drive bands, brake band kits and E-Clips (please see my other listings), but I have struggled to find the exact diameter polycord for making up the treadle connectors! I have put in a lot of work researching and experimenting with a number of different sizes of polycord to suit Lendrum wheels, but have not been able to match perfectly the diameter supplied by Lendrum. Although the length of each of the two Lendrum-compatible treadle connectors that I am supplying in this listing is correct, the diameter/thickness is around half a millimetre narrower that those supplied my Lendrum. None the less, I have fitted these fractionally under-sized connectors to my own personal Lendrum DT spinning wheel, with no functional issues at all. I have also received positive feedback from customers who have fitted them too. When fitted and screwed in place, they are very stable and not at all loose. Please be mindful of all of this when placing your order.

The longer of the two treadle connectors joins the right-hand treadle to the footman on the double-treadle wheel, after first passing through the rocking arm (make sure that you leave a gap of around 16mm between the rocking arm and the footman when fitting it). The shorter connector joins the left-hand treadle to the rocking arm (it is also the only connector that you need on the Lendrum single-treadle wheel). NB. You will probably need to trim the length of the connectors if fitting to the Saxony-style wheel (they fit perfectly 'as-is' on my own Lendrum double-treadle upright).

NB. If your spinning wheel is still fitted with the screws originally provided by Lendrum – called Square-Lok, Scrulox or Robertson screws (they have a square hole in the head) then, when fitting the connectors, you will need to use both Robertson No. 1 and a Robertson No. 2 screwdrivers (or ‘hex-bits’ and a handle). I supply Robertson No. 1 and No. 2 bits along with magnetic hex-bit screwdriver handles - please select from the drop-down list if you require these in addition to the treadle connectors.

Please note that Nancy suggests that a Robertson No. 1 screwdriver alone is required, but from personal experience, and that of my customers, a No. 2 screwdriver/bit is also required.
