Spinning Wheel Orifice Hook Threading Hook Solid Oak And Brass

Handmade here in south Wales, UK, these Spinning Wheel Orifice Hooks/Threading Hooks are machine-turned using solid, vintage Oak (or Beech – see note below), and have a solid brass wire and small, brass-plated screw eye. The wire is glued and inserted into a tight-fitting hole in the handle. The screw eye is screwed into the end of the handle and a length of ribbon is then attached (the screw eye is very easy to unscrew and remove, if you don't wish to use it). The handle is then lightly oiled.

Please note that, with all hand-crafted items, the dimensions and appearance can differ very slightly with each hook.

NB. The threading hook handles are normally made of Oak, but Beech is sometimes substituted if Oak becomes unavailable. Regardless, after a coat of oiled has been applied, the handles look almost identical in colour.
